It's issue four... and it's another fight-scene.  I might actually have to listen to this episode myself, since I can barely remember what happened here.
Major X has somehow married some of the worst aspects of two generations of comic book storytelling - it is as shallow and vapid as many books of the early 1990's, while being decompressed to the gills like so many "current year" comics.

X-Lapsed, Episode 58 - New Mutants #7

We had our fun in space... but, now - let's get these kids home!
Today we wrap up the New Mutants "A" storyline, reuniting bird-person child with (death)bird-person aunt... and finally plant our Krakoan seed in Shi'ar Space!  Also: A strange Dungeons and Dragons-style battle - complete with your humble host rolling virtual dice!  A fun issue... though, depending on your mileage - perhaps a hair too "cute" in the Deadpooly sort of way.  Lemme know your thoughts!

Today we're going to discuss the necessary "next step" issue of Marauders, in which, much of our team finds out exactly what happened to Call Me Kate.  It's an issue of reactions - which I myself will react to, and have a good time doing so.  There's also some mutant on nameless, faceless mercenary goon violence... which never gets boring (citation needed).

X-Lapsed, Episode 56 - X-Men #6

Torn from the pages of HoXnPoX, comes a very special Mystique-focused issue of X-Men!  Today we're going to find out some of the things that went on between the panels of the big Mother Mold Mission, when the X-Men raided the Orchis Satellite.  We're also going to flash back to a story from... well, sometime before Uncanny X-Men #255, where Destiny has a very important message to share with her wife.
It's been awhile since I've engaged in "hot takes", but - an issue like this, really invites the semi-critical thinking... and makes my mind percolate trying to figure everything out.  It's a goodie, and I hope you take the time to check it out!

X-Lapsed, Episode 55 - X-Force #7

Two great issues of X-Force in a row?!  Could it possibly be?
Yes, folks - thanks to my goof-up, where we very nearly missed an issue of X-Force, we get two really fun, and thought-provoking issues of the title in a row!  Today, we are going to discuss the potential collectivist nature of Krakoa, and how - for the needs of the many, the trauma of the few might be getting brushed under the rug.  We question whether or not the individual mutant is valued as highly as the "collective" Krakoa... and what the ramifications of this might end up being.
It's fun food for thought - and I hope to hear what you all think!

X-Lapsed, Episode 54 - X-Force #6

Today we're talking about a surprisingly x-cellent issue of X-Force!  Not only that - it's a one-and-done, that raises the stakes and advances our overarching plot!  Now, that doesn't feel like a "current year" book, does it?
In X-Force #6, our point-of-view character is Hank McCoy... who is going to do some pretty bad things in the interests of the greater good.  We establish a new potentially Omega-Level threat in Nanoflorites - and get another formerly unwilling nation to sign on the dotted line for some Krakoan Magic Meds!
Also: Great listener mail, discussing the "silent" Giant-Size issue, as well as some more kind words about our milestone 50th Episode!  It's a great time as always, I do so hope you'll join us!

X-Lapsed, Episode 53 - Excalibur #7

Welcome, friends - to a (mostly) Otherworld-free issue of Excalibur!  Oh my... I am so overwhelmed with relief-fueled euphoria, that I'll probably say a lot of nice things about this book!  While others might look at this issue as "filler"... it's a little off the beaten Dawn of X path... we have fill-in art... it's kinda silly, I couldn't be happier to just get a minute to catch our collective breaths with some of our favorite characters.  It's about time!

Major X-Lapsed, Episode 3 - Major X #3

Major X-Lapsed rolls on, right into the midway point of this sorta-kinda baffling miniseries.  This time out, we catch up with some old friends from a strange two-part turn of the century story from the pages of Wolverine and discover the "birthplace" of the X-Ential.  We also get three extended fight scenes, plenty of cryptic dialogue... and thankfully, very little in the way of Atlanteans!
Also: Your humble host kvetches a bit about how quick comics are touted as being "sold out" (such as these Major X issues), despite the fact that there are still stacks and stacks of these things at every brick-n-mortar comics retailer coast to coast.
