From the Patreon Archives, a topic inspired by Jeremiah Jones-Goldstein, wherein Reggie and I discussed the characters in comics that we never quite glommed onto. We open by explaining the long-running Cosmic Treadmill gag of my snoring anytime DC's The Spectre would show up in a story... and move on from there. We had a blast with this one, and we hope you can tell!
Surely to be a contentious topic... prepare to disagree with some of our picks!

Morituri Mondays, Episode 21 - Strikeforce: Morituri #21 (9/88)
Monday Jun 08, 2020
Monday Jun 08, 2020
Is it too late to turn back?
That's right, folks... it's a new day for Strikeforce: Morituri and Morituri Mondays. Out with the old, and in with the new... for better or worse. Gone are Peter B. Gillis and Brent Anderson... and in their place, James Hudnall and Huw Thomas. Will it be too much of a shock for our systems to properly process? We encourage you to tune in and find out!
Would it help if we told you there'll be a full-grown man wearing a diaper for the entirety of the issue? No? Then forget we said anything...
Also: A discussion of What The--?!, a Pro-File of Editor Bobbie Chase, the Evolutionary War rolls on, Pitchforce: Morituri returns reimagining our favorite team as professional wrestlers, and much much more!

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 2: Dreaded Deadline Doom
Sunday Jun 07, 2020
Sunday Jun 07, 2020
The second episode of Comix Tawk featured our conversation regarding Dreaded Deadline Doom... how missed deadlines have affected the comics industry dating back to the yesteryear of publication, how a certain tall Editor and Chief sought to fix that... and how it all went back to pot once mainstream writers decided it would be cool to "slum it" in comics. It's a pretty heated conversation... and the sort of discourse you don't usually hear on the main Chris and Reggie feed. Enjoy!

Also: Whatever happened to The Young Astronauts? A piece of lost-media on multiple fronts! What the heck is a Lane Mastodon... and why are his stories so slow? Tic-Tac Cocktails, sticky fingers, The Elvis Files, and finally, our pitch for Strikeforce: Morituri - The Soap Opera!

Cosmic Treadmill Presents... Comix Tawk, Episode 1: Variant Covers
Sunday May 31, 2020
Sunday May 31, 2020
Hello Friends,
Over the course of the next few months, I will be sharing our formerly Patreon-exclusive content to the main Chris and Reggie feed. We're going to start with the first episode of Comix Tawk... which was more or less, Reggie and I committing some of our Pre-Treadmill warm-up chatter to properly recorded audio.
For our first exclusive outing, we discussed the contentious and controversial topic of comics book variant covers... the glut, the exploitation, and how they're affecting the comics industry and retailers.
I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane... and, please look forward to more.

Chris is on Infinite Earths, Episode 35: Crimson Avenger #1 (1988)
Wednesday May 13, 2020
Wednesday May 13, 2020
Welcome back!
Continuing our look at some lesser-discussed Weird Comics History, today we're going to discuss the 1988 Crimson Avenger mini-series from DC Comics... with a particular focus on why you're unlikely to see it reprinted or made available digitally any time soon.
Also, how a story behind the story led to a seemingly innocent Cap's Hobby Hints strip in the pages of Christmas With the Superheroes #1 (1988)... and what it was actually (in part) referring to!
Fair Warning: This episode concerns some darker and more salacious material than usual...
